BiographyI began teaching at SCC in 1995 after moving to the area with my family for my husband's job. I Have three children, now self-supporting adults, one dog, one granddog, (no grandchildren yet), and a share of a race horse named Barbara S. We have an active social life, which includes a great deal of golf. My children now live in other states, as do my parents. This means we travel a great deal. We also always try to work in a warm weather trip over the winter semester break. Work HistoryI began teaching psychology on a fellowship (a scholarship to grad school where you teach or do research to "earn your keep"). I loved it and have primarily been teaching ever since. I have taught at a number of community colleges, both two and four year schools and also in adult education for business and industry. I have taught introductory psychology over 200 times as well as many sections of human development, child psychology and psychology of aging. EducationI graduated from Indiana University (yes i am a basketball fan) majoring in psychology and sociology. I received a Master of Science in Psychology from Purdue University and a Master of Social Work in Gerontology from Washington University. Pets
