Admission Requirements
Admission to the Nursing Program is on a selective
basis. Because of the academic demands of a curriculum that prepares
graduates to take a national licensing examination and to perform
safe nursing care with thoughtful application of nursing theory
in clinical situations, applicants must meet certain academic standards
for admission.
Students must make an appointment 636-922-8246 with the vocational
counselor to plan course work and to apply for the Nursing Program.
When available spaces are in high demand, preference will be given
to in-district students.
Students are eligible to enroll in nursing courses when the following
requirements have been met:
- Meet all of the college Admissions requirements.
- Submit high school transcripts or GED scores. If a minimum 2.5
GPA (4-point scale) on the transcript or 260 on the GED score
is not met, criterion for college course work may be used (see
#5, below ).
- Submit previous official college transcripts (hand carried transcripts
not accepted) if you have already taken college courses that you
want to count for your degree here.
- Submit ACT Test Scores- Minimum composite score: 20. Tests must
have been taken within the last five(5) years. All applicants
must meet this requirement, regardless of previous college courses
or degrees.
- Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above on LAST 15 credit hours
of college course work. If a student has earned a bachelor's degree
or higher, the minimum 2.5 GPA may be calculated on the final
30 credit hours. Science courses must have a "C" or
better.

at least English Composition I and Intermediate Algebra or take

nursing application will be accepted.

results remain valid for one year only (September 1 - August 31).

Students will be considered as active applicants only if they maintain
contact with the Vocational Counselor at least annually. Students
who do not maintain contact or who cannot be reached by the address
or telephone number on record at the college, will be dropped from
the applicant file.
