Basic Life Support (NRS 314)

The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core materials such as adult and pediatric CPR, including two-rescuer scenarios and the use of the bag/mask technique, relief of choking and the use of an Automate External Defibrillator (AED). This course is intended for the healthcare provider who has not previously taken a CPR course and who must verify successful completion of a CPR course. Students must participate, practice, and successfully complete a skills evaluation and a written examination to complete this course.

  • Part 1: General Concepts
  • Part 2: CPR for Adults
  • Part 3: CPR for Children (1 year to age puberty)
  • Part 4: CPR Adult and Child Bag-Mask Technique and Rescue Breathing
  • Part 5: 2-rescuer CPR for Adults and Children
  • Part 6: Automated External Defibrillator
  • Part 7: CPR for Infants
  • Part 8: Relief for Choking
  • Part 9: Special Consideration
  • Part 10: The Big Picture

Attendance Requirements:

Students must participate, practice, and successfully complete all lessons to receive a completion card.
