What Is Exploritas?
Exploritas is America's first and the world's largest educational travel organization for adults 55 and over.

Adventures in Lifelong Learning
We are a not-for-profit organization that provides exceptional learning adventures to nearly 160,000 older adults each year. Exploritas offers nearly 8,000 programs a year in more than 90 countries.

We believe learning is a lifelong pursuit that opens minds and enriches lives. We believe sharing new ideas, challenges, and experiences is rewarding in every season of life. Our participants come from every walk of life to learn together, to exchange ideas, and to explore the world.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has named St. Louis as one of a Dozen Distinctive Destinations! Come see for yourself!

Welcome to Exploritas in Missouri!
SCC implemented the first Exploritas program in 1992. Since then, Exploritas has become one of the largest programs within the Continuing Education Department. Starting with only a few offerings in the first few years, SCC provides one of the largest Exploritas programs in Missouri, offering more than 20 programs annually.

Experience the World Through Exploritas!
Here is just a sampling of some of SCC’s most popular Exploritas programs.

Meet Me in St. Louis
Get the inside stories of great city icons. Learn about the Gateway Arch, St. Louis Cathedral, Missouri's Botanical Gardens, and Forest Park, site of the 1904 World's Fair. Take field studies into ethnic neighborhoods to appreciate their rich heritage, explore the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, and see the world-famous Clydesdale horses. Cruise the muddy Mighty Mississippi on a paddlewheel boat to hear and absorb the rich history of the river. Meet Me is very popular! Register early!

Mark Twain, Lewis & Clark, Civil War
The best way to learn history is to experience it for yourself. Learn about Mark Twain and the Mississippi River, Lewis and Clark, and Missouri's role in the Civil War.

Cycle Through Beautiful Countryside

Slowly meander across Missouri’s Rhineland in fall or spring, and enjoy the great outdoors, beautiful scenery, and small town charm along the Missouri River.

Fly Fishing - Down by the Old Mill Spring
The clear waters of Bennett Spring provided 19th-century settlers with an ideal location for their mills – and a seemingly endless supply of trout! Cast your line into this historic spring, as professional guides lead beginning and intermediate anglers in the art of fly fishing.
