What Is Exploritas? Exploritas is America's
first and the world's largest educational travel organization for
adults 55 and over.
Adventures in Lifelong Learning We are a
not-for-profit organization that provides exceptional learning
adventures to nearly 160,000 older adults each year. Exploritas
offers nearly 8,000 programs a year in more than 90 countries.
We believe learning is a lifelong pursuit that opens minds and
enriches lives. We believe sharing new ideas, challenges, and
experiences is rewarding in every season of life. Our participants
come from every walk of life to learn together, to exchange ideas,
and to explore the world.

Welcome to Exploritas in Missouri! SCC
implemented the first Exploritas program in 1992. Since then,
Exploritas has become one of the largest programs within the
Continuing Education Department. Starting with only a few offerings
in the first few years, SCC provides one of the largest Exploritas
programs in Missouri, offering more than 20 programs
annually.

programs.
Meet
Me in St. Louis Get the inside
stories of great city icons. Learn about the Gateway Arch, St. Louis
Cathedral, Missouri's Botanical Gardens, and Forest Park, site of
the 1904 World's Fair. Take field studies into ethnic neighborhoods
to appreciate their rich heritage, explore the Anheuser-Busch
Brewery, and see the world-famous Clydesdale horses. Cruise the
muddy Mighty Mississippi on a paddlewheel boat to hear and absorb
the rich history of the river. Meet Me is very popular! Register

Mark
Twain, Lewis & Clark, Civil War
The best way to learn history is
to experience it for yourself. Learn about Mark Twain and the
Mississippi River, Lewis and Clark, and Missouri's role in the Civil
War.
Cycle
Through Beautiful Countryside Slowly meander across
Missouri’s Rhineland in fall or spring, and enjoy the great
outdoors, beautiful scenery, and small town charm along the Missouri
River.
Fly
Fishing - Down by the Old Mill Spring The clear
waters of Bennett Spring provided 19th-century settlers with an
ideal location for their mills – and a seemingly endless supply of
trout! Cast your line into this historic spring, as professional
guides lead beginning and intermediate anglers in the art of fly
fishing.
