The job market is strong for IT workers, according to the Department of Labor. Employment opportunities are expected to increase much faster than the average. See the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook:

Training at St. Charles Community College is a real bargain. Here are the approximate total costs (tuition, fees, and books) for each program. In-district students (a person whose residence is within the boundaries of St. Charles County with the exception of the Washington School District) pay $80 per credit hour. Students who are out-of-district, but in-state (a person whose residence is in Missouri, but outside of St. Charles Community College District) pays $118 per credit hour. Students who are out-of-district, out-of-state, or international [International students holding a F, H (except H-1B), J, M, O-2, P, or Q visas will pay the out-of-district, out-of-state, international student tuition rate] pay $175 per credit hour.

The college also offers a senior discount. Any Missouri resident 65 years of age or older on or before August 1 of an academic year may enroll, tuition free, in credit courses at the college based on available class space after tuition-paying students have enrolled.  The scholarship does not cover special fees, books, or materials.  You will be required to present proof of age at the time of registration.  All courses may be taken on a credit or audit basis, and all course prerequisites must be met prior to registration.

Below are your approximate costs for each program - including tuition, fees, and books. Your actual cost may vary. They do not include the cost of additional classes in order to obtain a degree or certificate, or the cost of taking certification exams.

Getting Started

Unless you've already taken CPT 115 and CPT 106, you'll need to come by to discuss a waiver of prerequisites. Many times a waiver is granted. Just drop Mike an e-mail at mfuszner@stchas.edu to set up a time to stop by. You'll have a chance to talk about your background and experience, goals, take a brief tour, and prepare to sign-up for classes if it's the right thing for you.

Some classes fill quickly. Students register on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is suggested that you register as soon as registration opens up each semester. Spring registration usually begins in late October; fall registration usually begins in early April.
