Make-Up Testing Policies and Procedures


The Assessment Center (Student Center 133) can provide a valuable service to students and faculty by offering make-up testing for exams missed in the classroom. Their phone number is: 636-922-8629.

Assessment Center Hours:

Monday & Tuesday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Wednesday & Thursday: 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

They are usually open one Saturday per month, 8:00 a.m.- Noon.

Details Regarding the Make-Up Testing Procedure

Instructor Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly complete the referral form provided by the Assessment Center.
  • Write the student’s name on the test(s) and/or answer sheet(s).
  • Deliver, or send through interoffice mail, the test(s) and referral form to the Assessment Center (SC 133) by the first day of the designated testing period.
  • Instruct students to call the Assessment Center at 922-8629 or come by SC 133 to receive a schedule of the Assessment Center hours (Division Coordinators should also have this information). Inform students of the deadline for taking the test.

Student Responsibilities:

  • Call 922-8646 or come by SC 133 for the Assessment Center hours – or see Division Office Coordinator.
  • Arrive at the Center with enough time to take the test before the Center closes for the day.
  • Show picture I.D. (Driver’s license or School I.D.)
  • Bring pencil or pen as required for the test, and any testing aides allowed by the instructor.
    Practice appropriate test-taking behavior at all times.

Assessment Center Staff Responsibilities:

  • Upon receiving the test, store it in a secure location.
  • Identify the student with photo I.D.
  • Administer the test following the guidelines stated by the instructor on the referral slip.
    Observe the student’s test-taking behavior and report any unusual behavior to the instructor.
    Report to the instructor the date the test was taken and the amount of time spent on the test on the yellow copy of the referral form.
  • Return the test to the instructor by interoffice mail or by securing the test until it is picked up by the instructor.
  • Return all unused tests to the instructor after the expiration date. Tests without an expiration date will be returned to the instructor one week after being received.
