Future:
Want a job?
Between one-fourth and one-third of all civilian jobs in the
United States are marketing related! The U.S. Bureau of Labor
Statistics estimates that employment in the marketing field will
grow 25 percent by the year 2010!
There are many challenging and high paying positions in a
wide variety of marketing activities, including sales and sales
management, advertising, public relations, market research,
retailing, wholesaling, brand and product management, and
international business. Customers are what make any business
successful, so many business owners, top executives, and CEO's have
a marketing background.
Pathways:
At SCC, students interested in marketing may choose
one of three pathways:
Four-year path, Associate of Arts
Degree:
The two-year Associate
of Arts transfer degree with an emphasis in pre-business will
provide you with a good foundation before continuing your education
in marketing at a four-year institution. The Associate of Arts
transfer degree parallels the first two years of a business degree
at senior institutions, so many of your community college credits
will transfer towards the bachelor's degree. (Click

What our students are saying .
. .

"I like the open
atmosphere of the campus. It's very friendly here. It seems like
most of the students are from the same area so you have similar
interests and many times you already know the same
people.
Because tuition is more affordable, I'm
keeping my student loans down until I transfer to a four-year
university.
I also really like the small classes. I
enjoy my marketing class because the instructor has such a great
attitude and you always know what is expected of
you!
The instructors are really personable
and they take the time to get to know you." --Stefan Walker, Student
"I've been really pleased
with my classes at St. Charles Community College. The standards and
quality of instruction are top notch!
The teachers have high
standards and the students are challenged to meet them. If I wasn't
pleased with the quality of education I was getting, I wouldn't
still be here!" --Christine Lander, Student
