The Show Choir is an
auditioned ensemble of mixed voices for up to 16 singers. Audiences
have been thrilled by the performances of this spring semester
ensemble which was originally selected from the Chamber Choir but
is now being offered independently.
Musical literature selected from
Broadway and Hollywood shows will be performed. In addition to full
chorus work, soloists and small ensembles are selected. Under
the
musical direction of Gene Ditch the scenes are then staged and
choreographed by Lynne Snyder. Final
performances often include sets and costumes from some well-known
and some not so well known musical theater shows.

Along with performances on campus, the
group also performs for social and community events in the St.
Charles County area. Selected members of the Show Choir may also
perform with the Community College Collegiate Choir for the Missouri
Community College Association (MCCA) state events and every four
years with the All-State Collegiate Choir for the Missouri Music
Educator's Convention.
The Show Choir rehearses five days
per week during the spring semester from 11-11:50 Monday,
Wednesday and Friday and 11:30-12:50 on Tuesday and Thursday.
Interested persons should register for the course and attend class
the first week of each semester to learn the audition material
which will include simple choreography. Auditions will take place
at the end of the first week with a well-voiced and balanced ensemble
being the goal.
