Event experience Title: The History Theatre
of St. Charles Community College
Anticipated Learning Outcome.
By attending an event through The HistoryTheatre, a student will be introduced
to numerous methods of evaluating historical issues and events. Through
biography, a student can evaluate the person in their own time, by
their own words and actions. Through dramatic arts, the student will
be able to recapture the social and environmental landscape of a specific
historical event which will assist in evaluating cause and effect through
a time continuum.
Guidelines for accomplishment of event
Attend one of the historical productions of The History Theatre if SCC.
Take notes as needed so that one can better summarize and evaluate
the event. Construct a one-two page essay that includes the following:
- What was the specific person, event, issue or place presented?
- What was the historical content of the production?
- What did you feel was the thesis of the playwright relative to the
interpretation of the person, event, issue or place presented?
- How many actors were in the productions? Who in history did they
portray? Where all of the characters actual historical characters?
- What was the final message of the production?
- How did the production address the competencies addressed above?
- Include as attachments with your essay and portfolio the program
or any handouts relating to this production.
