Anticipated Learning Outcome. Students who attend this lecture
will gain a better understanding the human impact on our world and how technology
has contributed to our understanding of the earth’s strengths and weaknesses.
Guidelines for accomplishment of event
1. Attend the lecture on September 13, 2007 at 12:00 (noon) in the Private
Dining Room of the Student Center and consider the following ideas:
a. What information about the earth does a satellite image provide?
b. What information about the earth is not identifiable from a satellite image?
c. How can satellite images help to identify problems with the earth?
2. Write a two page essay summarizing your experience at the lecture and addressing
the preceding questions.
