BUS101: Introduction to Business

Dear Student,
Welcome to St. Charles Community College and an “Introduction to Business”. This course is designed to give you a broad overview of business and its various functions, roles, and processes. It will help to prepare you for a career in business, or just help you to better understand the world around you. Do you want to get a better job? Do you wish you had bought stocks before they went up? Do you wish you had sold stocks before they went down?? Do you want to understand what makes companies successful? This course will give you insights into all these questions!
The online option of this course is designed to give you a great deal of time and place flexibility in taking this course. It does require a great deal of self-discipline on your part to do the required work without having scheduled classes. We will use the computer and Internet for most of our interaction and exchanges so you will need a computer able to access the Internet. I will review this at an optional orientation session. If have not used WebCT/Blackboard before, or do not feel comfortable using WebCT/Blackboard, I would highly recommend you attend this orientation

The only other times you will have to attend any session in person will be for the Final examination. There are two times available for the final:

Monday, July 28th 6:30 p.m. Room: HUM 101

We will go over how to use the Internet for this course at the orientation session. If you have ANY questions, write them down, and we will answer them at the orientation session. I look forward to interacting with you in exploring the world of business.
WebCT/Blackboard courses will not be available to students until 5 working days prior to the start of the semester.
