Dear ART 101-T1 Telecourse Student:

Welcome to St. Charles Community College and the telecourse, “Art of the Western World.” This telecourse is an introduction to art from prehistoric to present. My name is Tim Hahn, and I am the instructor.

The class will no longer be broadcasted. You will need to check out the DVD's for the class from the Library Circulation desk. You must show your student ID to check out materials.

Assignments will consist of video programs, text readings, mail-in quizzes, mid-term and final exam. A museum visit and paper are also required. There will be two orientations for this class where class materials will be distributed and questions about the class will be addressed. If you have already taken an online class and are comfortable without the orientation, you may pick up the packets in the library at the information desk. They will be available after the last scheduled orientation. If you have questions after reviewing the materials please contact me. Below are the dates for the class. These are firm and there will be no substitutions. Please schedule your time accordingly.

Thursday, January 29 – 7 p.m. – SSB Auditorium

Saturday, January 31 – 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. – SSB Auditorium

Midterms: Choose one to attend

Wednesday, March 25 – 6 p.m. – SSB Auditorium

Thursday, March 26 – 6 p.m. – SSB 1102

Saturday, March 28 – 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. – SSB 1102

Finals: Choose one to attend

Saturday, May 9 – 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. – SSB 1102

Wednesday, May 13 – 6 p.m. – SSB Auditorium

Thursday, May 14 – 6 p.m. – SSB Auditorium

Your textbook is available at the bookstore. The student telecourse manual will be given to you at the orientation. Good luck this semester!

**Students may now receive their telecourse books through the mail. Call the bookstore at 636-922-8448 to place your order. There is an additional shipping charge of $5.00 per telecourse. Students may use VISA, Mastercard, or Discover as methods of payments. Items will be shipped UPS.

**Be sure you receive the telecourse book for your class. On campus classes may have different books.
