IV Therapy Challenge Exam (NRS 100-40)

Exams given by appointment only

Fee – $175

The IV Therapy Challenge Exam allows the LPN who is IV certified in another state to obtain IV certification in Missouri. Students must possess a current Missouri LPN license or a temporary permit to practice as an LPN in Missouri. Students must receive approval through the Missouri State Board of Nursing before being allowed to register for this exam. Please contact them directly at 573-751-0681.

Students will be required to achieve a score of at least 80% on a written exam and demonstrate 100% mastery of the clinical objectives of the course during the practical exam.

Exam dates will be set by the Program Coordinator once all paperwork is submitted and test accommodations have been confirmed.

Please note: A nurse who holds an RN license in the state of Missouri is not required to take a separate IV Therapy course to perform IV Therapy. An individual who graduated from a generic practical nursing program approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing after Feb. 28, 1999, is exempt from taking a separate IV Therapy course, as these programs are required to include IV Therapy in the curriculum after that date.
