Restorative Nurse Assistant (RNA 100-40)

This course provides instruction necessary for employment as a Certified Restorative Nurse Assistant. It includes 36 hours of classroom instruction, as well as 30 hours of clinical experience in a skilled nursing facility. Upon completion, the student must pass a written and practicum (clinical) exam to qualify for certification.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a practicing Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) with at least 6 months of experience working as a CNA.
  • Must be employed at a long term care facility and be able to provide a letter of recommendation from the Director of Nursing or Administrator of that facility.
  • Be able to provide documentation of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US (documentation may be required).
  • Must provide results from an acceptable background screening from the Family Care Safety Registry (dated within the last 90 days). View the PDF for more information on this requirement.
  • Be free from tuberculosis and provide documentation of a negative 2-step TB test or "result of findings" from a chest x-ray (dated within the last 12 months). See the PDF for more information on this requirement.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English.

Registration Requirements

Please bring the following items when you come in to register –

  • COPY of high school diploma or GED certificate.

  • Tuition.

Registration is done at the Nursing & Allied Health Center (#1 Academy Place, Dardenne Prairie, MO 63368). Office hours are from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Hours may vary, please call to confirm.

This is a non-credit, certificate course. Tuition is due at time of registration and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
