Medical Coding (MCDG 100)

This AHIMA approved online program for Medical Coding is a comprehensive curriculum designed specifically to train individuals for entry-level certification and employment as medical coders in hospitals, clinics, physician offices and coding companies.

All necessary reference materials are included in the cost of the program including 3M encoder software, 250 outpatient and 75 inpatient records. The course is Internet based with all content online with the exception of select reference materials.

Upon completion of the program the student is eligible to take a national certification exam. National certification is issued by third-party organizations and industry governing bodies; costs are not included with the program.

The Certified Coding Association (CCA) exam is administered at Pearson Vue testing centers. Certification is issued by AHIMA. Additional information regarding this certification is available at www.ahima.org.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is issued by AAPC with the exam administered by local AAPC proctors. AAPC credits graduates with 1 year work experience towards having their "apprentice" status removed. Information regarding this certification is available at www.aapc.com.
