Medical Administrative Assistant, MAST 100

This Medical Administrative Assistant program is a completely online, self-paced program that will prepare students for national certification and also for employment in this rapidly growing healthcare field.

The program includes six months of online access from the date of activation and students can register anytime. With the average completion hours of 200, most students are able to complete the program in three or four months of part-time study (approximately 15-20 hours per week).

The program is offered in an online format utilizing the Internet to provide students with practical experience on the computer and keyboard while learning necessary office procedures and office management. It integrates the content into an interactive learning experience which includes automatic grading, on-demand pronunciation of medical terminology, virtual interaction with other students and instructors, plus electronic tracking of time and grades.

The program is Internet based with all content online with the exception of select reference materials. Everything that you need to successfully complete this program is included in the enrollment fee. (This includes trial access to Microsoft Office products.)

Upon completion of the program, the student is eligible to take a National Certification Exam. National certification is issued by third-party organizations and industry governing bodies; costs are not included with the program.

The Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification is used by the National HealthCareer Association (NHA). This exam is administered through Prometric testing centers which are located throughout the country. Information regarding this certification is available at www.nhanow.com. Certification is not required to get employment; however, it can provide many benefits for those who do receive it.
