Gerontological Nursing (NRS 300-HN1)

Based on the curriculum "Furthering Education for Nurses Caring for the Elderly (FENCE)", this 45-contact-hour online course is an enhanced training program that assists the nurse to develop specialized skills in the assessment and evaluation of the geriatric patient/resident with appropriate interventions.

Course Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a nursing program or LPN or RN licensure.
  • Mastery of the course objectives.

Note: Upon completion of the program, the student is eligible to sit for the Missouri FENCE certification exam through the Missouri League for Nursing - www.mlnmonursing.org.
