Guidelines for accomplishment of event

Option 1) Watch the movie Iris, 2001, (can be watched online through Netflix or any of the online video stores or rented at Blockbuster). This movie tells the true story of philosopher and novelist, Iris Murdoch, and her battle with Alzheimer’s disease. It is a very realistic portrayal depicting the slow and degenerative process of the disease. Follow Iris’ life from the early symptoms to her final days before her death.

Describe specifically what she and her loved ones go through in the film and the devastation of Alzheimer’s to the entire family unit. Research and explain the recent medical progress in Alzheimer's, nursing care facilities and family outreach programs.  Give specific examples in a minimum four page paper with works cited page and proper MLA citation. 

Option 2) A second option is to watch the film, Eden (a 1997 film) that depicts the debilitating effects of Multiple Sclerosis. Do some background research  what MS is and how it develops and might be treated. Discuss your findings in a minimum four-page paper and make a prediction whether her out of body experiences could be construed as beneficial to her situation OR harmful and why. Provide details and examples from the film. Provide a works cited page and proper MLA citation.
