Guidelines for accomplishment of event:
Attend a local or campus event related to mental illness. There are many different seminar-type events on campus such as Suicide Awareness events; speakers from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, etc. NAMI representatives come to campus once a year to present personal accounts of struggles with mental illness. Research what the community offers through hospitals and mental health organizations and attend a lecture.
Write a two page summary and critical analysis of what you heard, understood, and learned from the experience. Provide a detailed summary of the seminar as well.
