The above courses do not always need to be taken in the exact order listed above. Scheduling conflicts and nonavailability of certain courses are sometimes encountered. When a student is approaching graduation and cannot get exactly the course that he/she needs to meet the requirements, the college may allow substitutions for the required courses.
Courses taken for this degree are specifically designed and sequenced to help the student obtain employment and are not necessarily designed for transfer to a four-year institution. If the student anticipates working toward a baccalaureate degree, he or she should pursue the Associate of Arts Degree.
Specific courses require for Humanities, Natural Science and Social Science can be found in the college catalog under Associate of Applied Science Degree Graduation Requirements.
* The Academic Skills Assessment is required before enrolling in math or English courses. If a student places into lower-level courses than are required for his/her degree, then the student needs to first enroll in such courses before enrolling in the required courses.
**ACT110 has a prerequisite of ACT 101 or high school accounting or department approval; and MAT 120 or higher or department approval. For complete information about degree requirements and specific course descriptions, see the current college catalog.
