ESL 100 College Success for Non-Native Speakers ... 3
Prerequisite: Placement in RDG 104, ESL 101 or equivalent skill level. Advanced instruction for non-native speaking students regarding key strategies and skills needed to be successful in an American college, including listening, speaking, note taking, test taking, time management, and basic written communication.

ESL 101 ESL: Intensive Grammar Review ... 3
Prerequisite: Placement or TOEFL score of 350. College-level review of grammar and vocabulary for ESL students, emphasizing target grammar concepts, sentences and paragraph structure, vocabulary, idioms, and reading skills.

ESL 102 ESL: Intermediate Composition for Non-Native Speakers ... 3
Prerequisite: RDG 104 (or equivalent); Grade of C or higher in ESL 101, or Placement or TOEFL score of 450. Advanced instruction for non-native-speaking students in college-level English reading comprehension and writing. Students will read, discuss, and analyze short essays, poetry, and magazine articles and refine basic composition skills, including sentence, paragraph, and essay structure.

ESL 103/SPE 100 Pronunciation and Communication and Listening for Non-Native Speakers ... 3
Instruction in pronunciation for non-native speakers. By learning the American style of intonation, rhythm/speech production, and syllable stress, students will be better understood, and more articulate and expressive.  Small group and individual communication activities will focus on speaking and listening. Open to non-native speakers of an intermediate level or above. Suggested co-requisite: ESL 101 or equivalent skill level (not required).

ESL 105 Advanced Conversation for Non-Native Speakers ... 3
Prerequisite: ESL 103/SPE100 or equivalent skill level. Focus on improvement in conversational skills for non-native speakers with emphasis in fluency in speaking English, but also requiring refinement in listening skills. Included: current events dealing with American and International culture and films and video presentations.

ESL 120 Success in Health Care Careers for NNS (Non-Native Speakers) ... 3
Prerequisite: ESL 105 or equivalent and RDG 106. For non-native speakers entering health care programs in American colleges. Includes communicating in health care facilities, reading health care texbooks, medical records, and professional literature, learning in labs and clinicals, medical terminology, and culture in American health care.
