Stars in My Garden - Wall Hanging CRF 119
- Sewing machine (cleaned, oiled and in good working order) with all
feet and instruction booklet
- Wrap-around table for your machine (if you have one)
- Quarter inch (1/4") foot or Roll of 1/2" or 1" masking
tape if you do not have the 1/4" foot
- Walking foot for class 2+ (optional)
- Paper and pencil
- Rotary Cutting System (Rotary mat, rotary cutter, and 6" x
24" acrylic ruler)
- Sewing machine needles sharp (not Universal or Ballpoint needles);
Best are Quilting needles size 80/12 or Microtex Needles size 80/12
- 1/2 yard of muslin
- Small, sharp scissors for cutting threads; Large scissors (optional)
for cutting occasional pieces of muslin
- Measuring tape
- 1 bottled water 1/2 full (to clean the glue applicator)
Fabrics for Quilt:
- 3/4 yard - background fabric (use a solid or solid-looking fabric
in light to medium tone)
- 2 yards - medium dark to dark floral or patterned fabric for border
#2 and center squares
- 1/2 yard - Star Points (bright or medium dark); This can be a color
taken from flowers or pattern in the border fabric
- 7/8 yard - medium dark solid to coordinate with other colors; This
is for border #1
- Backing for quilt - 1 1/2 yards fabric
- 1 1/2 yard - 100% cotton batting; This is available at JoAnn's,
Hancock's, Make It Sew on Jungermann Road, and possibly at Wal-Mart
- Roxanne's Glue Baste It - usually available at quilt stores or Make
It Sew on Jungermann Road across from Paul's Donuts
- Grey or white chalk pencils (Roxanne's pencils preferred, if you
have different brand that is ok); usually available at quilt stores
or Make It Sew on Jungermann Road
Wash and iron fabrics before class if at all possible
