Our office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the SCC Main Building Room 1123 (campus map).

Services Provided

As an SCC student, you are entitled to 5 free counseling sessions, per semester. The Mental Health Counselor is available for virtual or face-to-face appointments. Students may first meet with the Student Support Case Manager or Office Coordinator to complete an assessment before being referred to the counselor. All counseling sessions are confidential unless there is talk of harm to self or others. 

The Mental Health Counselor can assist with:

  • Stress/ Anxiety
  • Anger
  • Depression
  • Grief/ Loss
  • Psychiatric Illness
  • Trauma
  • Family/ Relationship Issues

Mental Health Counseling Services FAQs

Can students still request mental health counseling and/or case management services remotely?

Yes. Our office is open 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All students may request appointments and counseling sessions to be conducted either virtually or face-to-face.

To coordinate an appointment or seek service, students can contact the Office of Student Life at 636-922-8536 or by emailing us at studentlife@stchas.edu for assistance.

What should I do if a student is expressing anxiety and/or depression?

For SCC students in immediate danger and life-threatening situations, please contact one of the following:

  • SCC’s Department of Public Safety at 636-922-8545
  • Behavioral Health Response’s (BHR) 24hr crisis line at 314-469-6644
  • Crisis Text Line - Text the word “HOME” to 741741

Additional Resources

SCC students also have access to one additional resource for mental health counseling and support services, META. Student can download the mobile application from their smart devices to obtain full service to the application.

META is a mobile application designed to connect college students to mental health providers for confidential and real-time chat, audio, and visual counseling. Students are able to receive mental health assistance anytime and anywhere. To access the full range of features, student will need to register utilizing their SCC email address (@my.stchas.edu)
