Miscellaneous Tests Offered at SCC

Description: The C-BASE is a requirement for admission to any Missouri State school of education.  It is administered at the college throughout the year. Please call 636-922-8629 for upcoming testing dates.

How to sign up: If you are a declared Education major, you will automatically receive a registration letter in the mail and/or through CougarMail. For more information on taking the C-BASE at SCC, see the C-BASE flyer.

Ability to Benefit 
(Financial Assistance)

Description: The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education has approved the COMPASS tests for use with Financial Assistance Ability to Benefit requirements. Students, who must meet these requirements, need to take all three portions of the COMPASS test (reading, math, and writing) in a single sitting.
How to Sign Up: This may be done during Assessment Center hours.  See Financial Assistance if you have further questions.

NOTE: Students who do not have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent (e.g., GED), or do not meet the home school requirements, and who first enroll in a program of study after July 1, 2012 will not be eligible to receive Title IV student aid.  To determine your eligibility, contact Enrollment Services at 636-922-8601.

Description: This test is given to pre-nursing students as part of their ADN and LPN admission requirements.  The test is administered on Moodle. You must have your Moodle I.D. to take this test. This is the same I.D. used to sign in to SCC Connection. Assessment Center staff does not have this information.

Description: The college administers the ACT during national test dates. Please call 636-922-8241 for those dates.

How to Sign Up:
All registration is done through ACT. Registration packets are available in Room 1204 of the Administration Building. Our ACT test center code is 022810.

ACT Preparation Classes

• The Division of Corporate and Community Development offers ACT preparation classes during the school year.
• The dates and cost of the course are listed in the non-credit class brochure and online at www.stchas.edu/LearnForLife.

Description:
Students who plan to graduate from SCC and who have taken a U.S. history or American Government class in another state must pass this test in order to meet the Missouri graduation requirement.

How to Sign Up:
No appointment necessary.  Come in during regular assessment center hours - must have SCC student photo ID at the time of testing.
