Distance Learning Class Critical Information

ACT-105-N1 Personal Accounting & Finance

Dear Student,

Welcome to St. Charles Community College and “Personal Finance”.  This course is designed as an overview of practical business procedures, covering banking procedures, investment matters, budgeting, insurance, payroll and associated taxes, interest, marketing and other economic issues, and other areas important to economic survival in a highly sophisticated business environment.

The online option of this course is designed to give you a great deal of time and place flexibility in taking this course.  It does require a great deal of self-discipline on your part to do the required work without having scheduled classes.  We will use the computer and Internet for most of our interaction and exchanges.  In addition, all homework and quizzes will be completed and submitted via computer so it is essential that you have access to the Internet.  I will review this at the MANDATORY ORIENTATION SESSION

You MUST attend the following orientation to receive your course password and instructions:

5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, 1/23  – TECH 216

*Please bring all course materials to this session.

If you cannot attend the orientation or the second Exam session scheduled below, you must contact me to make alternate arrangements. I can be reached at 636-922-8328 or my email is aboulware@stchas.edu.

Exam #2, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 – SSB 1208
