ACT-110-N1 Financial Accounting I

Dear Student,

Welcome to St. Charles Community College and "Financial Accounting." This course is designed as the second accounting course you would be taking. It has a prerequisite of Applied Accounting ACT 101. Basic concepts covered include a brief review of the basic accounting cycle. Development of fundamental concepts in determination of income and presentation of financial position of accounting as well as coverage of corporation accounting including stocks, stockholder equity transactions, and bonds are also covered. Introduction to international accounting as well as statement of cash flows.

The online option of this course is designed to give you a great deal of time and place flexibility in taking this course. It does require a great deal of self-discipline on your part to do the required work without having scheduled classes. We will use the computer and Internet for most of our interaction and exchanges. In addition, all chapter homework will be completed and submitted via computer so it is essential that you have access to the Internet. I will review this at the MANDATORY ORIENTATION SESSION.
