Online Course: Spring 2013
Dear Student:
Welcome to St. Charles Community College and to the online course, "Survey Economics." This course presents a concise introduction to economic concepts, terminology, issues and analysis. Our immediate aim in this course focuses upon building a framework of economic literacy. Ultimately, the course seeks to equip you to engage in a rational analysis of and participation in the major economic issues confronting you and the nation. From a more personal rationale, the course attempts to sharpen your decision making through an economic view of choice.
Distance learning is a wise alternative providing many advantages for learners, but online courses also require a certain amount of self-discipline to successfully complete the requirements. Attributes for successful distance learning include good organization and time management skills, the ability to comfortably use computers and access the Internet, and the ability to comprehend and conform to written instructions. Your worst enemy will be procrastination.
We will discuss many of these topics, including computer usage, at the orientation session. Attendance at the orientation session is mandatory. The meetings are scheduled for:
Orientations (choose one to attend):
Midterms (choose one to attend):
Finals (choose one to attend):
