This course is not independent study. It cannot be done at your own pace! You will have a weekly schedule of assignments and due dates. Due dates are not optional and cannot be extended.

This course will require the ability to study and read independently; take 10 timed online quizzes, participate in 10 discussions and complete eight chapter activities with written responses; take a midterm and a final over five chapters that include multiple choice questions and two essay questions.

This course also requires that you are able to time manage and be self-directing in many ways. AN ONLINE course provides you with a great deal of flexibility but that can be a problem instead of an asset for some students. You need to consider this before starting a course of this type. In addition, this course moves very quickly and will require that you are self disciplined and stay current with your assignments.

If you sign up for this class, you are agreeing to be self-motivated and disciplined to complete the required work at the pace subscribed by the facilitator.

Please click on the link below and take the quiz to learn about how well you are suited for online education.

You may purchase the book in the SCC bookstore new or used. It comes packaged with a very useful study guide that is helpful in preparing for exams, but is optional if you purchase a used book.

Sincerely,

Beth Finders and Lisa Stoner
