BUS-101-N1/n2 Introduction to Business

Online Course: Spring 2013

Dear Student,

Welcome to St. Charles Community College and an “Introduction to Business.” This course is designed to give you a broad overview of business and its various functions, roles and processes. It will help to prepare you for a career in business, or just help you to better understand the world around you. Do you want to get a better job? Do you want to be a good manager? Do you wish you had bought stocks before they went up? Do you wish you had sold stocks before they went down? Do you want to understand what makes companies successful? This course will give you insights into all these questions.

The online option of this course is designed to give you a great deal of time and place flexibility in taking this course. It does require a great deal of self-discipline on your part to do the required work without having scheduled classes. We will use the computer and Internet for most of our interaction and exchanges so you will need a computer able to access the Internet. We will go over how to use the Internet for this course at the optional orientation session. If you have ANY questions, write them down, and we will answer them at the orientation session. Information about how to succeed in the course will also be available on the course itself and you can email me through the course with any questions.
