Program Description

Databases are used to store, retrieve and manipulate data in nearly every type of organization including business, healthcare, education, government and libraries.

Database technology is routinely used by individuals on personal computers, by work groups accessing databases on network servers, and by all employees using enterprise-wide distributed applications.

What you will learn:

• Create and manage files, file groups, databases, tables and transaction logs.
• Enforce data integrity using constraints, defaults and rules.
• Plan/design data for appropriate use by users and application programs.
• GIS: Add graphic elements to records in data tables for features on the Earth’s surface.
• Create views of data (different users need to see different views).
• Design and create stored procedures.
• Design and create triggers such as automatic reordering.
• Work with distributed data.
