• Prang 16 color set
• 11 x 14 or larger pad or sketchbook of watercolor paper your choice-140lb is a good paper; however if you are just starting out 90lb is acceptable
• 1 wash brush-the one that comes with the set is acceptable
• #4 kolinsky round brush
• pencil
• eraser-magic rub, white click, or kneaded
• low tack painter's tape or artists tape
• frisket, optional
• reference pictures/photos of something you would like to paint
