As St. Charles Community College celebrates its 25th anniversary, I am excited to be a new member of the community and grateful to serve as the third college president. I applaud your interest in higher education – it is the best decision you can make for a more enriching life. Selecting SCC, with its quality faculty and dedicated staff, is a good choice.
Whether you are a recent high school graduate, planning to earn a GED, eager to update your skills or returning to school to begin a new career, you can take advantage of the many programs offered at SCC. With more than 24 transfer programs, 41 career-technical programs, a variety of workforce training and community-based personal and professional development opportunities, the door is open for you here.
Through day, evening, weekend and online classes, SCC annually serves more than 11,000 credit students, together with another 67,000 non-credit enrollments – a large segment of St. Charles County’s population. In fact, one out of every four St. Charles County high school graduates chooses to attend SCC each year – more than attend any other college or university.
The college offers an array of enriching opportunities for student involvement, including more than 30+ student clubs/organizations, as well as four intercollegiate teams – baseball, softball and men’s and women’s soccer. The tutoring center, with more than 90 computers, is free to students.
At SCC, a wide range of financial assistance and scholarship options make a quality education affordable. Check out all the possibilities!
I am confident that you will find the support and resources you need to succeed at SCC. I invite you to explore the schedule of classes, visit the campus or check out www.stchas.edu for more information.
Sincerely,
Ronald Chesbrough, Ph.D.
