Classroom teaching experience includes American History, Non-Western Civilization, Western Civilization and Geography. Received Thomas P. Neill Outstanding Dissertation Award, St. Louis University Department of History in 2010 for his dissertation “The Politics of Public Health in Chicago: 1850-1930.” Numerous entries published in the Encyclopedia of American Political and Legal History, 2011, Encyclopedia of American History, 2009, including entries in medicine and public health, and the Roger Baldwin entry in the Dictionary of Literary Biography, American Radical and Reform Writers, 2008. Member of American Association for the History of Medicine, History of Science Society, Midwest Junto for the History of Science, Sigerist Circle.
