A juried exhibit featuring artwork by SCC students will be on display April 25-May 6 at St. Charles Community College. The show is free and open to the public, and it will be in the gallery of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building on the college campus in Cottleville.
“This show includes select student artworks from the SCC visual arts program, chosen by this year’s visiting juror, Professor Jane Barrow,” said Christine Holtz, SCC adjunct instructor and gallery coordinator.
Barrow is an internationally recognized painter and mixed media artist and head of the painting area at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
An opening reception will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the gallery, with an awards ceremony at 7 p.m. during the reception. First, second and third place awards will be given in each category, as well as honorable mention awards. Categories include painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, fibers, printmaking and jewelrysmithing.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information about this exhibit or upcoming exhibits, contact Holtz at email@example.com.
