The St. Charles Community College women’s softball team welcomed an incoming class of six seniors from area high schools as they signed letters of intent to play softball at SCC for the 2011-12 season.

Cougars’ head coach Jenn Beckmann and assistant coach Michelle Patrico welcomed Lafayette senior Megan Filanda, New Bloomfield senior Megan Cockrum, Bowling Green senior Mary Jo Twilla and Fort Zumwalt West senior Jamie Tierney in their recent visit to the SCC campus. Fort Zumwalt South senior Brittany Eleden and Francis Howell senior Shea Dean also recently signed with SCC women’s softball team.
“These girls are all going to have a big impact on our program next spring,” Beckmann said.
The SCC women’s softball team is currently in the midst of the 2010-11 season, with a record of 3-3 and recent wins against Central Methodist University and Southwestern Illinois College. For a full schedule, visit the Cougar Athletics Web page at www.stchas.edu.
