Slam poet Shanelle Gabriel will give a free performance at St. Charles Community College at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1. The show will be in auditorium of the Social Sciences Building on the SCC campus in Cottleville.

Shanelle is a singer, writer and actress who has opened and been featured on the sixth season premier of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam. She has recorded promos for national television and shared the stage with nationally known music artists and comedians. She was also a competitor in the 2007 Individual World Poetry Slam Competition.
