St. Charles Community College President Ronald Chesbrough was recognized among the “Beyond the Best: Top 50 in Business Awards” by StreetScape Magazine. The Oct. 18 awards ceremony recognized St. Charles County executives, employees and board members.

Ronald Chesbrough, Ph.D., became SCC’s third president in October of 2011. Previously, he served as vice president for student affairs at Hastings College in Nebraska since 2005. Chesbrough was dean of students from 1993-2005 and from 1989-1993 he served as director of Upward Bound, both at Johnson State College in Vermont. Chesbrough also has worked in service learning, career services and co-curricular learning and has taught part-time in psychology.
Since he arrived at St. Charles Community College he has launched a long-range planning effort, strengthened four-year institution partnerships, completed a reorganization of key areas to support student success, and enhanced internal communications through the use of open forums, email updates, and a personal blog (www.stchas-president.blogspot.com).
Chesbrough earned a doctorate in higher education leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has a Master’s of Education degree in organizational and human resource development and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and economics. He and his wife, Annie, have five daughters and reside in Weldon Spring.
