Take time for yourself and enroll in social dance classes at St. Charles Community College this fall. A lifetime investment in fun and wellness, dance is a great way to exercise without working out.
Beginning in September, learn how to swing, rumba, line dance and more with award-winning dance instructors Linda Landwehr and Stan Mayer. The classes will be in the College Center dance studio on the SCC campus, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
Instructors Landwehr and Mayer are former professional champion dancers with more than 25 years experience in dance competition and instruction.
Dance instruction is available in various dance forms, including foxtrot, waltz, rumba, swing and tango for all skill levels, ages 14 and up. The spacious dance studio has a floating wood dance floor, mirrors and air conditioning.
Registration for the eight-week social dance classes, held one night each week, is $50 per person. Enroll with a partner.
The following eight-week classes are available:
Sundays, Sept. 7-Nov. 2
Mondays, Sept. 8-Oct. 27
Tuesdays, Sept. 9-Oct. 28

“Spins, Turns and Techniques,” a special, one-session class, will be offered noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, and is $20 per person. Students will learn the proper foot, arm and hand style positions as well as spins, turns and body positions. This class is for students who have already taken a social dance class at SCC.
Students who have taken a previous class with Stan and Linda may also participate in four-week mini-sessions at $25 per person. The mini-sessions run Nov. 9-Dec. 11.
